Display: Vintage Toys

Antique ToysRemember climbing monkeys, tin windup toys, and plastic pop-up clowns? A collection of vintage toys is now on display at the District of Lake Country showcase to encourage you to reminisce about Christmases past. Several items, including dollhouse furnishings, were made in Canada by Reliable Toys. A number of windup toys, such as Charlie Chaplin, a dancing couple, and skier, are featured. A tin dump truck and Kewpie dolls are amongst the oldest toys and a 6IX skateboard, possibly from the 1970s, is the most modern.

Thanks to Eleanor Geen, a Director at the Lake Country Museum, for the loan of many of the toys and to Karen Gibbons, LCM volunteer for assembling this display.
