Display: Preserving the Harvest

Display_Preserving the Harvest‘Preserving the Harvest’ highlights the popular practice of canning the abundant fruits and vegetables of Lake Country. On display are assorted vintage jars and kitchen implements, including jar lifters, jar pliers, and tongs. Packages of pectin, paraffin wax, and spices are examples of items commonly used for canning. The cookbooks contain recipes for spiced peaches, canned corn, jellies, and pickled vegetables.

The display can be seen at the District of Lake Country Office on Bottom Wood Lake Road.
