Each Flower: 7 mm (1/4") across; 5 mm (3/16") tube opening into 5 white to pinkish-tinged lobes with long style terminating in 3-lobed stigma which protrudes almost 7 mm (1/4") beyond petals; calyx bright green with small bracts at base
Leaves: Opposite, up lower half of stem; lower ones have 4 cm (1 1/2") stalks with opposite pairs of leaflets and 1 terminal leaflet; several pairs of similar opposite leaves with shorter stalks, at intervals up main stem
Stems: Smooth, green, finely ribbed, hollow, tough, and branched above
Blooming Period: June - August, according to elevation
Habitat: Moist open or wooded mountain areas from middle to upper elevations
