Each Flower: 5-7 mm (3/16-1/4") across with 5 rounded petals; 5 stamens protrude at least 7 mm (1/4") beyond petals, giving fuzzy appearance; 5 pointed, bristly sepals; flowers at base of cluster open first while ones towards tip unopened, giving the whole curl a neat, green appearance
Leaves: Silvery green with short, downy hairs, especially beneath; lower leaves have long, hairy stalks; blades spear shaped with conspicuous veins; stem leaves become progressively smaller towards top
Stems: Silvery and branched from base
Blooming Period: May - August
Habitat: Dry to arid, open, rocky, or sandy areas; often in sagebrush country
