Each Flower: 1.3 cm (1/2") long, standard curled backwards; wings tough at tips and enclose keel which contains stamens and pistil. 2 silky-haired sepals of unequal length, lower one much longer and standing away from keel, upper one hugs outer surface of standard; each flower-stem, 3-5 mm (1/8-3/16") long
Leaves: Stalks up to 7.5 cm (3") long, terminating in 7-9 narrow, pointed leaflets, 2.5-5 cm (1-2") long, radiating like spokes of wheel; leaflets silky-haired on both surfaces, perhaps more so beneath, giving greyish appearance beneath and green above
Stems: Woody, round, hollow, green, finely hairy; several stems to a plant
Blooming Period: May - August
Habitat: Dry, sagebrush country
