Leaves: Almost alternate up length of stem and narrow, lance-shaped with serrated margins; smooth, somewhat leathery, and often reddish-tinged; middle ones longer
Stems: Sturdy, smooth, and reddish
Blooming Period: June - September
Habitat: Mountainous, in open coniferous woods and slopes
