Leaves: Many, mostly in opposite pairs up length of stems, narrow pointed, may be untoothed or slightly toothed, up to 5 cm (2") long and 7 mm (1/4") broad, dark green, smooth above, dull beneath
Stems: Woody, brittle, lower parts rough and reddish
Blooming Period: May - August
Habitat: Dry, rocky, open places from lower foothills to moderate mountain elevations
