Each Flower: 3 mm (1/8") across; calyx green and tubular, 5 mm (3/16") long and opening into 5 pointed, creamy-white to pinkish petal-like sepals; 5 stamens each attached to a "petal" and surrounding single style; at base of each tiny flower is a green, pointed bract
Leaves: Many stalkless, narrow, pointed, greyish-green, almost fleshy leaves arranged spirally up stem; up to 3 cm (1 1/4") long and 5-6 mm (3/16-1/4") wide; tips mostly pinkish; bottom leaves scale-like
Stems: Rigid, smooth and purplish-tinged especially at top and base
Blooming Period: March - July
Habitat: Arid hillsides
