Each Flower: 2.5 cm (1") across with 5 triangular, crinkly, waxy petals with conspicuous, paired stamens which surround round, green, 5-segmented ovary with long style and 5-parted stigma; calyx composed of 5 very small greenish-white sepals; below flowerhead is small bract
Leaves: Basal, round, finely toothed with short stalk; blades dull above and almost shiny below; may be 1 or 2 tiny cup-shaped bracts on stems
Stems: Smooth, may be pinkish
Blooming Period: June - July
Habitat: Damp wooded areas at most elevations
