Leaves: Alternate up full length of stem, with short stalks terminating in fan-shaped fringe formed by 3, 1.3 cm (1/2") narrow, deeply cleft lobes which are again deeply cleft into 3; also tufts of leaves at base
Stems: Slender and often reddish
Blooming Period: June - August
Habitat: Moist open or shady, sandy or rocky mountain meadows from sub-alpine elevations to above timberline
