Each Flower: 4.2-5 cm (1 3/4-2") long including spur; distinctly 2-lipped, upper lip longer than lower lip and 2-lobed and creased down middle; lower lip has 3 lobes, outer 2, folded downwards; lobes join to form pouch (palate-like swelling) which is furry and orange; lower lip extends downwards into long, thin spur
Leaves: Many, pointed, almost triangular, almost fleshy, clasping leaves up full length of stem; margins often curled upwards; 5-6.5 cm (2- 1/2") long and 2.5-3.2 cm (1-1 1/4") broad, becoming progressively smaller up stems
Stems: Woody, round, smooth, and green. May branch above
Blooming Period: June - September
Habitat: Roadsides and waste places
