Leaves: Many short, narrow, pointed, stalkless, evergreen leaves 7 mm (1/4") long, thickly distributed along stem-branches
Stems: Woody and leafless, then spreading into many, leafed branches
Blooming Period: July - August
Habitat: Mountain slopes from just below to just above timberline
