Each Flower: 2.5-3 cm (1-1 1/4") long, including spur; 2 distinct lips, upper lip cleft into 2 lobes; lower lip 3 lobes which join to form pouch (palate) which is orange and furry; lower lip then extends downwards into thin, straight spur about 9 mm (3/8") long; flower-stems 7 mm (1/4") long with small, pointed bract where they join main stem; 5 green sepals
Leaves: Many strap-like leaves up full length of stem, 4-6.5 cm (1 1/2-2 1/2") long-axils
Stems: Rigid and branching into slender, flowering stems at upper leaf
Blooming Period: June - September
Habitat: Meadows, roadsides, and waste ground
