Call for Volunteers

The Lake Country Heritage and Cultural Society (which includes the Museum) is always interested in having more people volunteer for heritage and cultural activities. Currently, we are in need of volunteers for specific upcoming events in August  — the Mexican exhibition, Hecho a Mano, and the family-oriented celebration, CentrePiece

For the Mexican exhibition (which opens on Saturday, August 18th) we require volunteers who would help with Spanish translations for the didactics (labels) for the exhibits. If you are proficient in Spanish and would be able to help with these translations please contact the Lake Country Museum by telephone (250-766-0111), e-mail (lcmuseum@shaw.ca), or by dropping into the Museum at 11255 Okanagan Centre Road West in Lake Country.

For CentrePiece, we require volunteers in a number of areas.

The annual August celebration, CentrePiece, is a wonderful community celebration held in Okanagan Centre Park, by the Lake Country Museum. Although this family event is well attended and enjoyed by Lake Country residents the organization and planning falls to a few community-minded residents.

The event itself takes place on Sunday, August 26th, but of course the planning has already begun. This is an opportunity to work with other community members and make this already special event even better!

We would love to have you join us. Please contact Eleanor Geen (eleanorgeen@hotmail.com) or Richard Gibbons (gibbor@shaw.ca) if you would be able to volunteer in any capacity. They will welcome your help and enthusiasm!
