Summer Hours begin: Lake Country Museum is open seven days a week

Summer Hours begin to-day at the Lake Country Museum. The Museum is open 7 days a week, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., from Monday, May 14th through Labour Day, Monday, September 3rd, 2012.

We are able to extend our Opening Hours during the summer season because of our summer students. This year our excellent summer staff members are Elise Hahn and Zach Kornell, Okanagan students who are in the Bachelor of Arts in International Relations program at the Kelowna campus of UBC-Okanagan. Both Elise and Zach have been exchange students, Elise in Grenoble, France, and Zach in Poão Pinheiro, Brazil. We are extremely fortunate to have these bright young people working with us this summer.

At the Museum one can take a step back in time through the historic Okanagan Centre School (which houses the Museum), the Museum Annex, and the Wentworth cabin, a settler’s cabin which was built in 1906. One can research local history using the Museum’s archives, visit the gift shop and enjoy fresh food offerings at the OK Patio Café.

Guided tours are available at the Museum; for tour groups of 10 or more please pre-book by telephoning 250-766-0111 or by e-mailing at lcmuseum@shaw.ca

Admission is by donation.

Directions to the Museum (11255 Okanagan Centre Road West, Lake Country, BC) are available on our website.
