  • Thankyou for the update on Pelmewash Parkway .Though not able to attend Lake Country events as I am away till Easter I wonder if examination of the wonderful seaside walk here in Cambell River would be an inspiration or guide to follow. It stretches for several kilometers between the former highway and ocean with rest areas and parking spots and is thoroughly enjoyed by bikers , strollers, and nature lovers.
Though space between the original Highway 97 and Wood Lake is narrow and kokanee spawning prevents wideng the walkway perhaps a Board Walk similar to the unique one at Bella Bella could be the answer. That would increase the enjoyment of shoreline activity for locals and visitors ,perhaps even give a first-hand glimpse of the spawning.

Recently I started a Young Family Museum in our garage in Oyama.. Oyama Communiity Club will celebrate its 100th annivaersary in 2014 and is interested in. . displaying some of the farming and household artifacts as well as local histories of the 20th century . I would prefer to keep the collection in Oyama but if Lake Country Museum is interested you are certainly welcome to approach my sons Dave or Bob if I am not available. Thankyou and best of wishes for your continuing diligence in recording the history of our delightful area of Lake Country.
    Sincerely, Joyce Young.
