Each Flower: 4-6.5 cm (1 1/2-2 1/2") across with several rows of ray-flowers, becoming progressively shorter towards middle; usually with toothed tips; involucre usually has 13 long, pointed bracts with keeled central ribs arranged in 2 rows; stem swollen below flower-head. Seed-head resembles that of large dandelion
Leaves: Many broadly-clasping, smooth leaves which taper to long point
Stems: Several stems branching at leaf-axils; hollow, green with darker green, narrow stripes and appearing jointed at leaf-axils
Blooming Period: May - July
Habitat: Drier roadsides and waste ground
