Leaves: Many, close to ground, oblong, 1.5-5 cm (5/8-2") long and up to 2 cm (3/4") broad; leathery blades creased in herring-bone fashion and roundly toothed; upper surface dark green, underside silvery with white, matted hairs
Stems: Upright and softly hairy
Blooming Period: May - July
Habitat: Rocky or gravelly ridges and slopes from higher elevations to above timberline
