Each Flower: 2.5-5 cm (1-2") across with 5 pale yellow horn-shaped petals, each tapered end forming spur about as long as width of mouth of horn; each petal joined to its neighbour as it narrows; all 5 spurs pointed upwards; on looking into flower, petals appear as 5 cups; 5 greenish-yellow, pointed sepals close to spurs and alternate with petals; numerous stamens protrude as brush from each flower
Leaves: Lower ones have long stalks which branch into 3 smaller stalks each having 3-lobed blade; each lobe broadens, is again 3-lobed and notched; where stem branches into flower-stems, there is whorl of narrower, pointed leaves; in lower-stems 1 or 2 pointed leaves
Stems: Smooth, thin, and rigid
Blooming Period: July - August
Habitat: Mountain slopes in open, wooded, damp areas at 914-1524 m (3000-5000') scattered throughout area
