Leaves: Alternate below, whorled at flower-stems; narrow lance-shaped, 5-10 cm (2-4") long 3-9 mm (1/8-3/8") broad, dull green above, shiny beneath with central rib
Stems: Unbranched, dull green, smooth, round, rigid
Blooming Period: June - August
Habitat: Moist, open, often deciduous wooded areas, grassy meadows
