Leaves: Alternate, highly aromatic, stalkless and lance-shaped, 3-11 cm (1 1/4-4 1/4") long and up to 9 mm (3/8") broad; covered with short, whitish downy hairs beneath and green above
Stems: Single, but one to several from one root-stock, almost woody and often reddish below
Blooming Period: June - October
Habitat: Dry, open areas and roadsides
