Leaves: 1 short, narrow, pointed, ribbed leaf 7 cm (2 3/4") long and 13 mm (1/2") broad, at base of each spray and several larger leaves up to 12 cm (4 3/4") long, arranged alternately on upper part of stem as it angles, and almost clasping
Stems: Round, smooth, green, rigid with scale-like bract below
Blooming Period: May - June
Habitat: Damp, mixed woods and open areas
