Each Flower: Pouch or lip is 2-2.5 cm (3/4-1") long, almost round moccasin-shaped, with small opening revealing purple spots on inside, petals white and up to 2 cm (3/4") long and 5-7 mm (3/16-1/4") wide; sepals green and softly hairy, upper one broad and 2 lower ones smaller and often united and indistinct
Leaves: Many stalkless, broad, lance-shaped leaves up stem 10-15 cm (4-6") long and ribbed, downy, especially beneath
Stems: Very downy and unbranched
Blooming Period: June - July
Habitat: Sphagnum bogs, mossy woods, lake edges, and along streams. Location: Mara Meadows
