Leaves: Both entire and lobed leaves; lower ones entire and oval with short stalks, upper ones deeply-lobed and stalkless
Stems: 5-10 cm (2-4") long, smooth, and green
Blooming Period: March - May.
Habitat: Open banks and meadows, sagebrush flats, and at higher elevations as soon as the snow melts
Note:

May cause dermatitis. One of the first spring flowers to bloom
