Each Flower: Lip 9 mm (3/8") long, broad, flat, slightly wedge-shaped and stands out almost horizontally; notched at broad outer margin; tends to be translucent; petals and sepals narrow, lance-shaped, and a little shorter than lip and all curved backwards
Leaves: About midway up stem is opposite pair of pointed oval, smooth stalkless leaves, 5-5.6 cm (2-2 1/4") long and 4.5 cm (1 3/4") broad; underside shoes several darker green parallel veins
Stems: Shiny and smooth below leaves and hairy above
Blooming Period: May - July
Habitat: Damp coniferous forests and mossy streambanks
