Leaves: Stalkless leaves arranged alternately up stem, fleshy, inverted lance-shaped to oblong, with rounded tips, often with pinkish mid-ribs beneath
Stems: Sturdy, round, smooth, often pinkish-tinged
Blooming Period: April - June
Habitat: Open or slightly wooded sagebrush country with Ponderosa pine up to middle elevations
