Each Flower: 2-2.5 cm (3/4-1") long, bell-shaped, 1.5 cm (5/8") across; tube opens into 6 pointed petal-like segments, 3 inner petals, 3 larger outer sepals; petals and sepals have darker blue central vein; 6 stamens with bluish anthers, 3 higher ones seemingly attached to petals, appear to have darker anthers; lower ones seemingly attached to sepals; pointed, papery bracts below flower cluster
Leaves: 1 to 4 basal leaves, almost grass-like, keeled, up to 40 cm (16") long, often purplish at base
Stems: Round, smooth, and leafless
Blooming Period: April - July
Habitat: Open grassy banks and sagebrush flats
