Each Flower: 7 mm (1/4") across with deeply-cleft, narrow petals, greenish at base; 6 stamens, 4 long and 2 short; 4 green, hairy sepals pointed and half as long as petals; flower-stalk 3 mm (1/8") long; many small, flattish, egg-shaped pods lower down flowering stem as plant matures
Leaves: Many small, pointed, rough leaves arranged spirally, mainly on stem branches 1.3-2 cm (1/2-3/4") long and 3 mm (1/8") broad; very often there are 1 or 2 tiny stipules at leaf-axils
Stems: Main stem woody, rough, and reddish and stem branches green
Blooming Period: May - August
Habitat: Poor gravelly soil on roadsides and in waste places
