Each Flower: 7 mm-1.3 cm (1/4-1/2") long with 5 broad-ended petals, upper 2 smaller than lower 3 which are often whitish at base and finely lined with darker veins, 2 side petals are hairy inside; lower petal extends backwards into a spur, usually over half its length and slightly hooked; style is hairy
Leaves: Mostly up the stem with narrow, pointed toothed stipules at base of stalks; blades are heart to kidney-shaped, 1.3-4 cm (1/2-1 1/4") broad with slightly round-toothed margins
Stems: Grow longer through flowering season and branch into flower-stems at the leaf-axils; 2 tiny bracts halfway up flower-stems
Blooming Period: April - August
Habitat: Moist to drier areas, banks and meadows
