Leaves: Large, tough, like maple leaf, 30 cm (12") broad and 20 cm (8") long with coarsely-toothed lobes. Stalks up to 23 cm (9") long and together with veins, sharply spiny
Stems: Thick, armed with sharp spines
Blooming Period: May - July. Berries from August onwards.
Habitat: Moist, shady woods from low to middle elevations
