Leaves: Lower leaves up to 5 cm (2") long and roundly spear-shaped, dull green, and tough; many stem-leaves serrated, almost clasping, and becoming progressively smaller up stem
Stems: Several woody stems from one root-stock and becoming many-branched above
Blooming Period: July - September
Habitat: Very dry open areas, gravelly roadsides and waste places
