Each Flower: 2-2.5 cm (3/4-1") across with 5 narrow, pointed petals, black-dotted along margins; petals open flat to show tight cluster of many stamens; pointed, lance-shaped sepals are half the length of petals
Leaves: Many opposite pairs of small, stalkless, narrow, oval leaves on stem-branches; fewer larger, opposite leaves on main stem; leaves appear to be perforated by transparent pinholes when held up to light
Stems: Woody, grey-green, and smooth and branched into flower-stems at upper portion
Blooming Period: June - July
Habitat: In large or small masses on roadsides and waste places
