Each Flower: 3 mm (1/8") across, 5 tiny, heart-shaped petals; 5 white stamens a little longer than petals. Below each large flower-cluster several pointed bracts each with dark green central band
Leaves: On thin stalks sheathing main stem, blades divide into several pairs of opposite lobes and a terminal one; lobes again divide into several opposite, tiny, toothed lobes giving fern-like effect, lower leaves opposite, upper ones alternate at stem-branches
Stems: Stout, ribbed, green-purple, spotted, and hollow; freely branched
Blooming Period: May - August
Habitat: Damp roadsides, ditches and waste ground
