Each Flower: 7 mm-1.5 cm (1/4-5/8") across, cup-shaped, with 5, rounded petals, uniting to form tube; 5 stamens; greenish-grey, stubby sepals, usually downy; seeds have stiff, barbed hairs which stick like a burr
Leaves: Basal leaves downy, long lance-shaped, up to 20 cm (8") long, tapering below into flattened stalk; many stem leaves, smaller and stalkless
Stems: Slightly ridged, downy-haired
Blooming Period: May - July
Habitat: Dry waste places and roadsides
