Each Flower: 2.5 cm (1") across; deep bell-shaped with 6 oblong, chocolate-coloured tepals mottled with greenish-yellow; 6 stamens with yellow anthers and shorter than tepals, hang clustered in middle together with longer style; behind nodding flower is a long, narrow pointed bract or spathe
Leaves: Narrow lance shaped, 5-15 cm (2-6") long and 3 mm-2 cm (1/8-3/4") broad and often in 1 or 2 whorls up stem or may be scattered
Stems: Round, green, rigid, smooth and reddish below
Blooming Period: April - June
Habitat: Damp, open, grassy banks, and meadows
