Leaves: Basal leaves have stalks which broaden into narrow, inverted lance-shaped blades, with longitudinal veins, softly hairy; 2 or 3 opposite pairs of smaller, pointed, stalkless leaves up stem
Stems: Sturdy, downy, and usually unbranched
Blooming Period: May - July
Habitat: Grassy meadows and open woods from the foothills to moderate elevations
