Leaves: Finely short-haired; basal leaves on main stem with several small reddish-purple bulblets in axils
Stems: Single, slender, reddish, softly hairy
Blooming Period: March - May
Habitat: Open grassland and sagebrush areas to Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forest
