Each Flower: 5-7.5 cm (2-3") across when fully open, with 10-18 slightly-pointed petals from 2.5-4 cm (1-1 1/2") long which together with 6-8 creamy-pink sepals form a shallow saucer; style with 4-8 branched stigma surrounded by numerous stamens
Leaves: Several long, narrow fleshy leaves, round in cross-section, usually withered before flower appears
Stems: Flower-stems 2.5-7.5 cm (1-3") long, reddish with whorl of 5-6 bracts
Blooming Period: May - July
Habitat: Dry to arid gravelly or rocky slopes in sagebrush areas
Note:
