The Lake Country Museum and Archives is hosting the Steeped in our Traditions Exhibit Launch on Saturday, June 22 at 1:00 pm followed by a Traditional Tea Ceremony at 2:00 pm.
The exhibit launch will introduce the new feature exhibit, which has two displays. The second is focused on Japanese traditions and includes a handmade Girls Festival Doll collection and a traditional uchikake. In the launch, Dan Bruce, Curator at Lake Country Museum and Archives, will explain the history of Japanese and Chinese traditions and how the exhibit came to be.
The tea ceremony will be held at the OK Patio Café. It will demonstrate how a traditional tea ceremony is executed. Afterwards, the steeped tea will be served to guests with Japanese themed dishes from the café.
