Lake Country Museum is on Facebook

Summer students Elise Hahn and Zach Kornell have created an impressive presence on Facebook for the Lake Country Museum. Daily they have been posting historical facts and weekly they have posted an historical photograph.

Here is a sample of a Local History Fact of the Day:

The Carr’s Landing wharf was built in the early 1900s. It became a regular stop for the paddlewheelers delivering mail and supplies to the settlers and collecting fruit for market. An office was built at the end of the wharf and a barn stood at the shore. The wharf was removed in the early 1950s after a farm worker tragicially fell and drowned.
