Leaves: Alternate, almost thread-like leaves up to 8 cm (3") long and 3 mm (1/8") broad, upper leaves reduced becoming almost scale-like
Stems: Several branching near base
Blooming Period: June - September
Habitat: Dry, gravelly, or rocky open places from dry bunchgrass plains to moderate elevations
