The Interlaken area consisted of those...lands in the district situated between the east side and the west side benches. Developer H. P. (Breezy) Lee acquired 116 acres of land from Samuel Young. He had the land surveyed and held a contest to name the new subdivision. Dr. Irvine's suggestion of Interlaken was accepted and he was awarded the $50. prize. The year was 1907.
