An opportunity to re-visit Bugs & Us

For those of you who missed Dr. Ward Strong’s wonderful presentation on insects, Bugs & Us, which was presented by the Lake Country Museum & Archives in September 2012, here is an opportunity to hear it at Capsule College in Vernon.

Insects … we brush them off, ignore them or say “yetch!” in revulsion, but insects can provide many years of fascinating study.

Join Capsule College on March 20 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Halina Centre in the Vernon Recreation Centre as Ward Strong, entomology research scientist at Vernon’s Kalamalka Forestry Centre, makes these small six-legged neighbours come alive for us with his intriguing stories and incredible microscopic images.

Bugs & Us: entomology in the Okanagan is the fourth of the spring Capsule College public presentations. It funds two $1,500 scholarships at Okanagan College and is sponsored by Vernon’s University Women’s Club.

  • Admission: At the door is $7.00; $4.00 for students.
  • Date and time: March 20, 2014; 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
